Labor Law (Labor Code, In Khmer: ច្បាប់ស្ដីពីការងារ) of Kingdom of Cambodia was promulgated by Decree No. CS/RKM/0397/01 of March 1997. The present law was made base on the 1992 labor law and the Constitution of Kingdom of Cambodia (1993).
Before this law was promulgated, the legal orders governing the relationship between employers and employees were the 1920 Civil Code, and then the 1927 Sub-Decree. Today, legal order s governing relationship between employers and employees are also provided new Civil Code (2007) of Kingdom of Cambodia.
The 1997 Labor Law of Kingdom of Cambodia contains 19 chapters and 396 articles. However, this law is not applied to:
- Judges of judiciary;
- person appointed to a permanent post in the public service;
- personnel of the Police, the Army, the Military Police, who are governed by a separate
statute;
- personnel serving in the air and maritime transportation, who are governed by a
special legislation;
- domestic or household servants unless otherwise expressly specified under this law.

Labor Law (1997) establishes the Labor Contract that "The labor contract establishes working relationship between employers and employees." There are two types of labor contract under this law; Labor contract of specific duration and Labor contract of unspecified duration.
